The Middlesex Zebras welcomed Groton to their home turf for a Friday afternoon match up. On the brink of the long weekend, both teams seemed a bit fatigued in the opening stanza, but Middlesex picked up the tempo as the first half progressed. Despite creating numerous goal scoring opportunities, the Zebras couldn't find the back of the net until13:03 in the first half. The goal lifted the Middlesex Zebras as they continued to pepper the Groton goalie with shots until they notched a second goal just five minutes later to close out the half. After a brief halftime meeting, the team stepped back onto the field determined to control the game in the first five minutes of play. The Zebras did indeed maintain possession with crisp passing sequences leading to another tally just 3:21 minutes into play. The game continued, much in the home team's favor, but Groton battled relentlessly until the final minute, in particular, their defensive unit, as they stopped the Middlesex offensive surge on many occasions. Even though the game ended in favor of the Middlesex Zebras, it was a great game played by both teams.
