Middlesex Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey fell to the Holderness School, 3-2 Saturday afternoon at the Plymouth State University arena in the team's first game back from winter break. The Zebras found themselves down 2-0 after the first two periods. After a 0-0 first period, Middlesex had two powerplay opportunities in the second and was able to test the Holderness goaltender but were unable to find the back of the net. The hosts scored two goals in the second but the Zebras bounced back in the third, playing with intensity and determination. Senior captain Leah Olson netted her first of the game after walking through two defenders and buried the puck past the Holderness keeper. Olson tied the game after going coast to coast, placing the puck top right. With three minutes to play, Holderness slipped a forward behind the Zebras defense and was able to capitalize for the go-ahead goal. Middlesex pulled goalie Caroline Silk but were unable to convert.
