The Zebras traveled to Byfield, Mass. on Tuesday to take on ISL foes Governor's Academy. Battling travel fatigue and general illness, the girls lacked their usual high energy and focus at the start, and they quickly fell behind 8-0 in the first set due to strong serving from the Governor's libero before making their first good pass. They picked up the level of play from there but still lost the first set 9-25.
Governor's proved to be a resilient squad able to recover from most plays and generated a large number of quality hits courtesy of their agile setter. Despite the Zebras' continued improvement throughout the match, they fell 11-25 in the second set and 15-25 in the third.
The coaches are encouraged by the team's determination until the final point. We are eager to continue to work on our consistency and energy at practice this week as we prepare to host BB&N on Friday at 3:45 (note the time change) and Thayer Academy on Sunday at approximately 3:00 PM after the JV match.
