The Zebras traveled to meet the Tabor Sea Wolves for the first contest of the season. With new players in different positions, Middlesex took some time to work out the kinks and find a rhythm against a talented opponent. The Sea Wolves were strong, fast, and athletic, but the mighty Zebras held on and Tabor scored just one goal, despite 15 shots on sophomore goalkeeper Cece DeSimone. Making her debut in the net, DeSimone made several strong saves and ignited the defense as the corner team fought off 11 of the 12 Tabor corners.
The offensive unit had trouble gaining momentum within their 25 yard line, but the Zebras are ready to adjust. The young team is excited to get to work this week in preparation for the first league game and home opener against St. Mark's next Saturday, September 20.
