Boys' Lacrosse Remains Undefeated

5/8/2014 11:08:00 AM

Coming off a big win against Governor's on Monday, the 8-1 Roxbury Latin team arrived in Concord, MA on Wednesday, May 7 ready to battle. Middlesex knew the game would be their toughest of the season, however, the Foxes may have been more fatigued by their early-week contest than anticipated.

Roxbury Latin rolled out two quick goals- with a very talented offensive group- before Middlesex responded with a goal of their own. However, the visiting team answered with another tally right away putting us down 1-3. Half a minute later, Muse found Howe on the crease for the Zebras' second goal with Fong tallying a wrap around soon after to draw the score even at three going into the second period. From that point on, Sam Carlin was awesome on the faceoff x winning all of the face offs and giving us possession nearly the whole second quarter. Our offense put together their best quarter of lacrosse, finding Michael Howe lurking on the crease for four goals (six on the day).

In the second half, we were fortunate to shut down Roxbury Latin's potent offense. Middlesex's defense in front of Michael O'Keeffe was terrific: putting the ball on the ground, getting the ground balls and moving the ball up the field in transition.

A great game by all as the Zebras took home a decisive 16-4 victory. The team now stands at 10-0; we face BB&N next on Saturday, May 10 in Cambridge, MA.
