It was a beautiful sunny day when Thayer came to Middlesex. Though not the toughest competition faced this season, Thayer was a formidable and skilled team. And ultimately, Middlesex was outmatched.

Most of our singles players had trouble getting themselves together at the start of the match but made some headway as the match wore on. Olivia Dewey (#1) and Katie Bull (#3) each scored a game on their opponents in the second set. Abby Myers (#4) lost her first set (1 -6), but finished her second set (4 – 6) with an improved score. Laura Kaye (#5) also had a slow start, losing the first set to her opponent (1 – 6). However, she employed effective strategy and tactics to bring it back and win the second set (6 – 4).

Caroline Reynolds (#6) dominated in her position, winning both sets by a solid margin. Freshmen Laura and Caroline went on to win their doubles match (8-2).

The Zebras will enjoy a nice long weekend and look forward to Lawrence Academy home on Wednesday.
