Boys' Varsity Lacrosse Continues Winning Ways

4/22/2014 10:57:00 AM

The boys' varsity lacrosse team had a terrific game against previously unbeaten Thayer Academy, beating them 9 - 5.   It was a "team" victory with every part of the field contributing to the win.

Middlesex's first goal was scored by freshman Gavin Garity-Rokous to be followed by one from freshman Sam Dwinell (one of his two of the day).

Thayer scored early in the second period to cut the lead to one but the two teams traded goals in the second quarter to go into halftime ahead. 4-2.

The Zebras had a difficult day on the face off x which meant Thayer had a lot of possession time; it also meant that our goalie and defense had to play very well to repel some talented Thayer dodgers.

Burr and Muse combined to score three goals in the next period to put us up 7-3. Finally, the Zebras traded goals in the last frame to secure the win 9 - 5.

Looking ahead,  the sledding doesn't get any easier in this talented ISL league. Middlesex will play Lawrence and Rivers this coming week.
