The boys' varsity lacrosse team had their first real challenge
on Saturday-playing Nobles- who had beaten Middlesex in convincing fashion a year ago.
The team came out of the gates ready to play and as a result the Zebras had their best first period to date...perhaps one of the better first periods ever, leading 5-1 after one quarter. Sam Carlin was excellent on the faceoff x, giving Middlesex possession of the ball for most of the period.
The second quarter was more evenly played as the Bulldogs were able to bridge the gap. However, Middlesex hung on to the lead and found themselves up 7-3 at halftime.
Nobles cut the lead by one in the final stanza but the Zebras tallied a few more goals to ice the victory, 10-4.
James Burr had five assists and a goal in this great win.
Middlesex hits the road on Wednesday, April 16 when they face Milton Academy at 2:45pm.
