The boys' varsity lacrosse team traveled to Concord, NH on Wednesday afternoon to face the Pelicans of St. Paul's.
Both goalies played well, Michael O'Keeffe for Middlesex and Duncan Lechner for SPS. The team struggled to convert on some opportunities in the first half and thus found themselves up only 4-2 at the end of the second quarter. With one second left on the clock, Jack Sullivan scored a nifty goal after he dodged an approaching St. Paul's player to give Middlesex the momentum they needed entering the second stanza.
The Zebras had two unanswered goals in the third quarter to stretch the lead to four. St. Paul's began the fourth period strong and scored twice to bring the game uncomfortably close at 6-4. However, Middlesex responded a short time later, scoring two goals in the last four minutes of the game to seal the deal.
Overall, the game was a bit sloppy but nothing that the Middlesex squad can't fix! A strong Nobles team travels to Concord, MA on Saturday, April 12 for a 3:00pm ISL contest.
