The Zebras hit the road on Saturday to face the division I Mustangs of Milton Academy for a 2:30pm game. Middlesex outshot their opponent 30-24 and as a result returned to Concord, MA with a well deserved 4-1 victory.

Middlesex got off to a slow start in the first period but were able to put the puck in the net just 5:06 into play. For the next 10 minutes, both teams battled to take definitive control of the game. With 4:54 left in the period however, the Mustangs tallied their first and only goal of the afternoon to tie the game at 1-1 before entering the locker room.

Middlesex started to find their stride in the second period. The forward line of Cici Frattasio '14, Maddie Winslow '14 and Sarah Tabeek '14 made several threats on the Mustangs' goaltender and were rewarded with a goal off a rebound with 2:07 left to play. Christina Cleroux '14 backstopped the defense with six saves to give her teammates the confidence they needed to play a more offensive game.

The Mustangs continued to fight their way back into the game in the third period but the defensive unit of Brooke Gary '14, Leah Olson '15, Mary Demoulas '16 and Caelin Flaherty '17 thwarted their efforts.  The Zebras scored their third goal after a nifty pass was made from behind the goal line to the slot with 9:02 left on the clock to take the 3-1 lead   And just under three minutes later, Middlesex cemented their fate with their fourth and final goal of the night off yet another rebound to take home the W.

The forward line of Arushi Ray '14, Hailey Porter '14, Sage Nye '17 and Julliette Bendheim '15 played a solid defensive game for the Zebras while Cleroux turned away 23 shots to help preserve the 4-1 victory.

Middlesex travels to Groton, MA next on Wednesday, February 12  for a 2:30pm contest vs Lawrence Academy.
