The MX 11 traveled to Nobles for the third game of the season.  The team has been improving every week and finally got some injured players back for this game. The game turned into a back and forth effort by both sides with the eventual outcome determined by turnovers.
 
Nobles opened the scoring when a Middlesex turnover gave them a short field to work with and a 7-0 lead.  The Middlesex offense responded with two scoring drives in the second quarter.  George Morris '15 got MX on the board with a 9 yard run up the middle but the kick was wide and MX still trailed 7-6.  With less than two minutes left in the first half MX safety Hamza Usman intercepted a Nobles pass and set the offense up at midfield. The MX offense went to the air, highlighted by a 39 yard pass from QB Austin Dorsey '16 to wide receiver John Schuster '15 to bring the ball to the Nobles 2 yard line.  James Burr '15 ran it in from there.  MX went for the 2 point conversion which was good, again on a pass from Dorsey to Schuster, to take the lead 14-7 at halftime.
 
The second half was dominated by the MX defense.  Although the MX offense turned the ball over three times, the MX defense held strong, producing 4^th down stop after 4^th down stop. Unfortunately, in the fourth quarter, Nobles returned one of the MX turnovers to the 2 yard line and scored from there.   Nobles decided to go for the 2 point conversion and converted on a pass that was perfectly thrown to recapture the lead 15-14.  MX had one last chance on offense but a third down pass was intercepted and returned for a touchdown resulting in the final score and a Nobles win 21-14.
