The Zebras kicked off the 2013 season with a victory over the Tabor Seawolves. At the start of the game, the Zebras had difficulty controlling the ball and the game was played mostly in the Tabor offensive end. Â However, following a shotless first 15 minutes, Middlesex found a rhythm and began testing the Tabor goalie. Â With just 3:43 remaining in the half, Cici '14 converted a rebound from a shot from Emma '16, and three minutes later, Caelin '17 scored her first career goal to give the Zebras a 2-0 lead going into the half. Â
Middlesex improved their passing sequences in the second half leading to a terrific goal from a combined effort from Pennie '15 and Claire '15. Â Tabor capitalized on a defensive breakdown in the second half, but Middlesex's Leah '15 posted 10 saves on the day to help lead the Zebras to a 3-1 victory.Â
The Zebras will take a week to prepare when they travel to Southborough, MA next Saturday to take on the Lions of St. Marks at 2:30pm.
