The Middlesex girls' varsity tennis team completed the home portion of their schedule by defeating The Governor's Academy 13-2. The skies threatened throughout the match, but the two ISL rivals were able to complete the match.
Despite missing two of its players, the Zebras jumped out to an early lead. Led by captain Emma Satterthwaite Muresianu '13, the girls captured 11 of the possible 12 singles' points. Olivia Dewey '14, Nikita Kodali '13, April Simms '14 and Nell Gallogly '14 all earned points for the squad. Two additional points were captured by Anita Kodali '13 who came straight from her AP Exam and won both her sets 6-0 giving new meaning to the term student-athlete. Middlesex completed the day by winning two of the three doubles matches. Olivia and Emma displayed a dominating serve and volley game to take the first match. Katie Bull '15 and Bess Butler '13 battled back and captured the number three doubles match 9-7.
Once again, the overall depth of the team was on display throughout the match. The team completes its season by traveling to Newport, Rhode Island to play rival St. George's School
on Saturday.
