It was a sunny day with flat water and a slight breeze on the Concord river, as Middlesex faced off against the Groton School, perennial New England championship contenders.
After close racing against Brooks on Saturday, the Zebras were ready to compete with the strong Groton crews. In all four races, Groton jumped off to an early lead right from the start. However, each Middlesex crew stayed in it from start to finish, fighting to close the margin. Overall, the Middlesex crews finished closer to Groton than race results from earlier this season would have predicted.
Our crews are looking to gain speed in the coming weeks to be ready for NEIRAs. We're poised and ready to see success at upcoming races against BB&N and Deerfield.
