The girls' varsity tennis deep dropped their first match of the season to defending ISL champions Thayer Academy 9-6. The team struggled to find its rhythm from the opening points and found themselves trailing 7-5 after the conclusion of the singles matches.
Seniors Anita and Nikita Kodali both swept their singles matches, but the rest of the squad was unable to build momentum in the chilly and windy conditions.
The Zebras needed to sweep the doubles matches to take the overall match, but only captured one of the three available points. Again, Anita and Nikita teamed up to secure a point for their team.
The team continues a busy week on the road at Lawrence Academy on Wednesday and Rivers School on Saturday.
