The Zebras relied on a crisp small passing game to defeat the Thayer Tigers on a Saturday afternoon in Concord, MA.  

Although Middlesex tested the Tiger defense in the first 15 minutes, the gutsy Thayer goalie turned away many shots, including several point blank shots on corners. Finally, the Zebras found the back of the net when freshman Caelin redirected a beautiful shot and effort by a Middlesex striker.  Less than two minutes later, Middlesex found the back of the net again to take a 2-0 lead going into the second half. 

Middlesex continued to pressure Thayer in the second half, and Emma '16 found the back of the net in a scramble in the first five minutes of play.  Thayer found a spark in the final 15 minutes of the game, but Katie '16 and Jenna '15 turned away the explosive Thayer forwards, and Olson '15 made a huge split save to keep the Tigers scoreless.  Helen '17 made a nice debut on the forward line with some key runs down the field, while Olson '15 and DeSimone '17 turned away 5 shots on the day.  

Middlesex will travel to Cushing Academy next on Wednesday, October 30.
