The Dragons came to Concord on Saturday to finish the season. Although on paper we looked like the favorite, a long standing rivalry can even the odds very quickly.
St. George's came out in a zone which slowed us down in the first quarter, although our offense collectively shot well and wore down the zone by the end of the first period, scoring three goals. Our time of possession increased in the second quarter and thus we had more opportunities to shoot on the cage from a reasonably close distance. The score was 9-2 at halftime.
Feeling pretty comfortable at this point, we had a chance to get a number of players some quality game time. Our boys knew that a win guaranteed us a piece of the ISL title to share with Governor's and St. Sebastian's and thus came to play today, especially Anders scoring five goals and AJ chipped in six goals and an assist.
The win did indeed give us a share of the ISL Championship and I couldn't be more proud of this team in terms of their play but almost more importantly their common commitment to working hard as a team.
We say goodbye to thirteen seniors and wish them well. This season will be one we all remember for a very long time!
Congratulations to the boys' lacrosse team!
