Coach Lawrence is from nearby Acton, MA and comes to Middlesex with a tremendous depth of tennis knowledge and experience.
Coach Lawrence attended Acton-Boxborough High School where he was a standout tennis player, ranked #11 in Massachusetts and #24 in New England (2014-2015). He was a three-year team captain and also a state semi-finalist as an underclassmen.
He went on to Franklin Pierce University where he was a four-year letter winner and a six-time selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll. He was a two-time team captain during his junior and senior seasons (2018 and 2019).
In 2019 Coach Lawrence was the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Leadership Sportsmanship Award, recognizing outstanding student-athletes in all five divisions at the regional and national level. This prestigious award is presented to the men's and women's national student-athletes who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership, as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.
Coach Lawrence has been an Assistant Coach at his alma mater Franklin Pierce for the past three seasons as well as the Tennis Director at The Heritage Club in Concord, MA. Coach Lawrence also currently serves as the Head Tennis Coach at the New England Tennis Center in Leominster, MA. He serves in that same capacity at the Wayside Club located in Marlborough, MA as well.
