Laura graduated from Middlesex in 1980 and went on to earn her B.S. in Biology at Trinity College. She returned to Middlesex in 1989 as Head Athletic Trainer, teacher, and crew coach. A strong rower at Middlesex and Trinity, Laura has been active in national and international crew as an athlete, coach, and athletic trainer. As a young rower she competed on the US Junior National Team and US Lightweight Development Team. From 1988-1994, she was the Head Athletic Trainer for both the U.S. men's and women's rowing teams as they competed in World Championships around the globe. Laura was also a USOC trainer in the 1984 Olympics, the 1989 Olympicfest, and the 1987 and 1995 Pan Am Games. As a coach, she has coached the Junior National Development team, and crews at US Rowing Nationals, Canadian Henley, and Henley Women's Regatta.
As the Middlesex Girls' Head Coach, Laura has coached teams to a New England Team Championship in 2006, numerous NEIRA individual boat medals, and two appearances at Women's Henley Regatta in England, most recently earning 2nd place in the Junior Four in 2007. Each year girls move on to the collegiate level at Brown, Stanford, Duke, Williams, and Boston College, just to name a few.
