The Middlesex School Boys Ice Hockey Team will continue its rich tradition of excellence with the hiring of Bobby Jay as its Head Coach. Coach Jay comes to the Zebras with 30 years of professional coaching and development in ice hockey. Coaching and playing at the NHL, AHL, IHL, NCAA, Olympic and youth levels has afforded Coach Jay the experience to develop and mentor elite level student athletes.

Middlesex boys' ice hockey has an outstanding history, including a number of Independent School League Championships. In past years, Middlesex hockey players have earned multiple ISL All-League Awards, All-New England Awards and Boston Globe All-Scholastic Awards. Many Middlesex hockey graduates have continued playing at the NCAA level.

Coach Jay is a patient teacher who motivates through passion and positivity to instill the desire and importance in his players to become well-rounded people as well as excellent hockey players. Coach Jay encourages fast and aggressive play to develop players who are not afraid to make mistakes. His coaching philosophy sets the stage for an exciting style of play that fosters confidence, teamwork and individual growth.
Previously coaching at Harvard University and more recently leading the East Coast Wizards Youth Hockey Program as its Hockey director and head of Elite Skills program, Coach Jay brings to Middlesex vast hockey experience bolstered by his background in the mentoring and development of young student athletes.
