CONCORD, Mass. - For the second time this season, the Middlesex golf team topped ISL rival Rivers, this time by a score of 4.5-2.5 at Nashawtuc Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
Highlights of the match included a come-from-behind tie for Robert Sou (Shanghai, China), who was three holes down with three to play. Sou birdied the last three holes, including a clutch 15-foot put on the ninth green to seal the deal.Â
Additionally, Ian King (Fairfield, Conn.) won his match by a hole, delivering a stunning eagle on the ninth hole. After a 300+ yard drive, King stuck his second shot within four feet of the hole, giving him a short putt to eagle the par-five ninth hole.Â
The win pushes the Zebras record to 9-4 overall with two matches remaining on the schedule.
Next week, Lucy Wang (Diamond Bar, Calif.) will lead the varsity girls in the annual Pippy O'Connor Tournament, an 18-hole, all-female tournament on Monday at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin, Conn.Â
Then, the team will play its final regular season match against St. Sebastian's and St. Mark's at home on Wednesday.Â
