CONCORD, Mass. - In a marathon match that lasted nearly three hours, visiting Rivers recorded a 7-2 win over Middlesex in ISL girls tennis action on Friday afternoon.
The Red Wings swept the three doubles matches despite
Emily Franici (Concord, Mass.) and
Annie Vanderwarker (Bronxville, N.Y.) putting up a valiant fight, before falling to Callie Walsh and Lily Bruner, 9-7 at No. 3.
The Zebras two wins came in singles action where Francini bested Walsh, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 and then
Katie Le (Greenwich, Conn.) won a wild 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 marathon match at No. 2.
Middlesex returns to action on Monday afternoon with a non-league matchup at Phillips Andover.
