CONCORD, Mass. - A busy week for Middlesex Golf proved to be incredibly fruitful as the surging Zebras improved to an impressive 7-1-1 record following a 3-1 week.

On Tuesday, MX topped arch nemesis St. George's, 4.5-2.5 in a matchup that saw five of the eight matches either won, lost, or tied on the last hole. Lucy Wang (Diamond Bar, Calif.) and Ian King (Fairfield, Conn.) beat their opponents at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, on the last hole, while Olivia Zhang (Vancouver, British Columbia), Howard Liu (Shanghai, China), and Ellie McCalmon (Easton, Md.) won more decisive victories and Pink Ye (Brisbane, Australia) tied her opponent to earn the team a half point.

On Wednesday, the team traveled to historic Kittansett Club in Marion to compete in a tri-match against host Tabor Academy and Lawrence Academy. The Zebras bested Lawrence 5-2, and lost a 4.5.-2.5 decision to Tabor, the only other undefeated team in the ISL. In 35 degree temps with steady 15 MPH gusts, Middlesex battled their opponents and the elements to once again prove they are one of the best teams in the league.

On Thursday, the warmest day of the week, Middlesex collected a 4.5-2.5 home triumph over Rivers, in a match that featured King winning his match on the ninth hole and McCalmon sinking a ten-foot putt to maintain her lead and win her match on the ninth hole.

Next week, they will compete against Brooks at Renaissance Golf Club, and the four varsity girls will compete in a scrimmage against Andover and Exeter at Concord Country Club.
