CONCORD, Mass. - Host Middlesex extended its winning streak to four straight matches following a convincing 6-1 win over MIAA powerhouse, Saint John's Prep on Friday afternoon.

The victory for the Zebras wraps up a 3-0 week where they won two league matches and have improved to 8-2.

Unlike their previous two victories, this matchup with the Eagles was a nailbiter that at almost every turn went the Zebras way.

Declan Power (Concord, Mass.) and Freddy Murphy (London, England) kicked things off with an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Drake Gallien (Bangkok, Thailand) and Calvin Sun (Repulse Bay, Hong Kong) collected an 8-5 victory at No. 3. Lach McCaghren (Lincoln, Mass.) and Luke Felago (Duxbury, Mass.) then gave Middlesex the doubles sweep with their 8-6 decision at No. 1.

Power continued his strong play during the win streak with his 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 and that was followed by Felago netting a relatively easy 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 3.

Murphy was locked into a battle with Boris Kouzminov at No. 4 where he won the first set, 7-5 but dropped the second by the same score. The third and deciding frame was close as well but Murphy prevailed, 10-6.

Meanwhile, Gallien was in a dogfight of his own at No. 5 with Boris Lande. After dropping the first set, 6-4, he rallied to win the second set 6-4 and then took the tiebreaker, 10-7.

Middlesex is back in action on Monday when they travel to Concord Academy.
