First Place Finishes Highlight Milton Quad Meet

MILTON, Mass. - Led by a pair of first-place event finishes, the Middlesex boys track and field team finished second at the Milton Academy quad meet on Saturday afternoon.

Bucknell-bound Brendan McCullen (Acton, Mass.) took top honors in the high jump, posting an impressive showing of six feet, two inches besting a foursome of Roxbury Latin performers.

Meanwhile, Orion Saunders (Westford, Mass.), won the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, eight inches.

Caleb Mitchell (Sudbury, Mass.) took second place in the javelin with a throw of 124 feet, while Felix Wetzel (Concord, Mass.) was fourth in the 100 meters (11.53) and third in the 200 meters (23.50) - both season best efforts.

Aidan Canty-Whitt (Concord, Mass.) recorded second (132-09) and third (43-02) in the discus and shot put respectively, while Josh Richards (Worcester, Mass.) was second in the shot put (45-11) and fourth in the discus (105-09).

Other standout showings included Tyler Martinez (Concord, Mass.) turning in a third place effort in the 800 meters (2:03.25), Sebastien Aubourg (New York, N.Y.) finishing fifth in the 1,500 (4:46.46) and Theo Moore (Louisville, Ky.) notching a personal best in the 300 hurdles (46.16).

Middlesex is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Tabor for a meet with the Seawolves, Belmont Hill, Rivers and Worcester Academy.
