CONCORD, Mass. - Middlesex continued its undefeated season, capturing a thrilling 3.5-3.5 tie with Dexter Southfield, moving their record to 5-0-1 on a warm spring day at Concord Country Club.

Dexter, which entered the showdown as one of the strongest teams in New England, saw Middlesex stage an improbable comeback, which included three players tying or winning their match on the ninth hole.

Lucy Wang (Diamond Bar, Calif.) arrived at the ninth hole one stroke down, sinking a 14-foot birdie putt to tie her match in what would become a critical half point. Tiger Wu (Great Neck, N.Y.), held off his opponent by hitting a 10-foot par putt to tie his match in dramatic fashion.

Pink Ye (Brisbane, Australia), the only ninth grader on the team, drained a critical par putt in the last foursome to maintain her tie and secure the tie against Dexter to the applause of her team.

Meanwhile, Robert Sou (Shanghai, China), Olivia Zhang (Vancouver, British Columbia), and Ellie McCalmon (Easton, Md.) won decisive victories against their opponents, with Sou battling back on the last three holes, and Zhang and McCalmon maintaining a lead throughout their matches against a formidable opponent.

Coming off a win earlier in the week (against BB&N at Belmont Country Club) and a tie this week, Middlesex is poised and ready to play three matches against four teams next week.
