CONCORD, Mass. - Visiting Milton Academy handed Middlesex their second straight defeat, posting a 4-3 decision in ISL boys tennis action on Wednesday afternoon.
The duo of Lach McCaghren (Lincoln, Mass.) and Luke Felago (Duxbury, Mass.) got the Zebras off and rolling with an 8-3 win over Michael Lee and Grant Fan at No. 1 doubles.Â
Milton won the other two doubles matches to steal the doubles point despite a hard fought battle at No. 2 where Tim Zhao (Zhuhai, Guangdong, China) and Declan Power (Concord, Mass.) dropped an 8-6 verdict to Max Pasiuco and Jaymin Nahata, 8-6.
McCaghren breezed to a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Michael Li at No. 1 and Power collected a 6-0, 7-6 (7-1) triumph over James Lee at No. 2.
Freddy Murphy (London, England), meanwhile, found his way into the lineup and paid immediate dividends, securing a 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 win at No. 4.
The Zebras turn their attention to Thayer who they face off against on Saturday.
