Belmont, Mass. - A bevy of strong individual performances helped the Middlesex boys track and field team kickstart their 2026 season with a meet against ISL rivals Belmont Hill, Noble and Greenough and Thayer Academy.
In the field events, Josh Richards (Worcester, Mass.) and Brendan McCullen (Acton, Mass.) both registered first place finishes, with Richards (45-02) claiming the top spot in the shot put and the Bucknell-bound McCullen taking top honors in the high jump with a leap of 6-4.
Aidan Canty-Whitt (Concord, Mass.) had a pair of top three performances, first finishing second in the discus (128-03) and third in the shot put (42-09).
On the track, Tyler Martinez (Concord, Mass.) turned in a second place showing in the 800 meter run (2:04.34) and a fifth place finish in the 1500 meter (4:34.63).
Theo Moore (Louisville, Ky.), meanwhile, was second in the 300 meter hurdles (46.37).
Middlesex is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Milton Academy for a tri-meet with the Mustangs and Buckingham, Browne and Nichols.
