Byfield, Mass. - Powered by strong performances up and down the lineup, visiting Middlesex collected its first win of the season, posting a convincing 9-0 win over ISL rival Governor's Academy on Friday afternoon. 

The No. 2 doubles combination of Stella Mourtzinos (Westford, Mass.) and Scout Olney (Duxbury, Mass.) made quick work of Bella Duong and Cat Patton, 8-0 and that was followed up by Annie Vanderwarker (Bronxville, N.Y.) and Emily Francini (Concord, Mass.) breezing past Elliot Evans and Parker Baker, 8-1 at No. 4.

After Katie Le (Greenwich, Conn.) and Zoe Le (Greenwich, Conn.) topped Jocelyn Botts and Lulu Wu, 8-2 at No. 1, the Zebras went into singles action ahead 3-0.

Things continued that way as Zoe Le blanked Duong, 8-0, at No. 2, Katie Le moved past Wu at No. 3 by an 8-4 score and Sophia Shiatis (Cambridge, Mass.) got past Coco Kou, 8-3 at No. 5.

University of Michigan bound Mourtzinos topped Botts, 8-4 at No. 1 and Vanderwarker posted a win at No. 6 - an 8-4 decision over Suma Begelli.

The busy week for the Zebras continues on Saturday when they play host to Nobles at 2:30 PM.
