Dedham, Mass. - Jake Freeman (South Kingstown, R.I.) and Armaan Idrees (Carlisle, Mass.) combined to score seven points in the game's final 12 seconds and visiting Middlesex rallied to stun one of New England's top teams in Noble & Greenough, 57-56, in Independent School League (ISL) boys basketball action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Zebras found themselves down 55-50 with less than 20 seconds left and that's when Idrees drilled a deep left side triple while being fouled. His subsequent free throw cut the lead to 55-54 with 12 seconds to go.

After Nobles split a pair of free throws, Middlesex advanced the ball up the court with Niko Badoian (Bedford, N.H.) finding Freeman deep in the left corner, who splashed a three-pointer with a player flying by with less than a second remaining, giving the Zebras a 57-56 advantage.

The anticipation of a last second heave from Nobles never materialized, as the Bulldogs committed an inbound infraction sealing the win for the visitors.

Nobles (9-3) entered the game ranked No. 2 in NEPSAC Class A after opening the season 8-0.

Freeman led the way for Middlesex with 12 of his 19 points coming in the second half, while Idrees added 14 points of own. Badoian chipped in nine points and both Gavin DeLuties (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Henry Orraca-Cecil (Sherborn, Mass.) added seven points each.
