CONCORD, Mass. - A wet turf surface saw a back and forth shootout go the way of the hosts, as Tabor battled and pushed their way back into contention time and again.
Liam Martin was a handful for Tabor throughout the match with his hold up play and goal threat as the target player. He received a pass from
Jax Ladieu in the 16th minute and turned to fire with his left from almost 30 yards and the knuckling rocket of a shot went in off the bottom of the crossbar to knot the match at 1-1.
Martin stepped up to the penalty spot in the 57th minute and slotted a classy penalty into the side net for Tabor's other goal and to complete his brace.
For Middlesex, center backÂ
Will McCarthy '28 scored a header from a set piece service by fellow sophomore
Adriano Valmora '28Â in the 18th minute to reply after Martin's stunning strike just two minutes earlier.
Valmora added four goals of his own with assists credited to
Bryan Mayhew '26,
Tyler Martinez '26, and
Baze Kalisa '26, as well as a penalty kick of his own after some great hustle from
Colin Hope '26.
For Tabor, Martin,
Will Cressman and
Noah Torudag were excellent in the midfield and attack.
Middlesex was led by Valmora's five points and great decisions, effort, and execution from Martinez and
Chris De Morais '29.
