MX Golf Finishes Week 5-0

Golf had a full week of golf starting with a make-up tri-match in Newport vs Gov's and St. George's on Monday.  The Zebras were able to defeat Gov's 6.5 - .5 and St. George's 4.5-2.5.  In the Gov's match Robert Sou (1up), Ian King (4&3), Olivia Zhang (3&2), Nolan Marsters (2up), Tiger Wu (3&2) and Howard Liu (5&3) all earned a full point.  Lucy Wang earned a half point with a halved match  Against St. George's Lucy Wang (3&2), Ian King (3&1), Olivia Zhang (5&4) and Howard Liu (4&3) earned a point with a win and Nolan Marsters added a half point when he halved his match.  

Wednesday back home at Concord Country Club, the Zebras faced Brooks and Milton.  On another wonderful day, the Zebras rolled over Brooks 5-2 with Ian King (3&1), Olivia Zhang(1up), Nolan Marsters (3&1), Tiger Wu (2up) and Howard Liu (5&4). In a very close match where Olivia Zhang came from 2 down with 2 play to halve her match and Tiger Wu won the last two holes to go 2up to earn the points needed to beat Milton 4-3.  Also adding a full point was Nolan Marsters (3&2) playing at #5 and Howard Liu (4&2) at #7.  Ian King playing at #3 earned the other half point for a halved match.

On Thursday the team traveled to Nashawtuc Country Club to take on Rivers for the second time this season and came back with a 5.5 - 1.5 victory.  Leading the way in the first group #1 Lucy Wang ((4&2) and Robert Sou (5&3) both earned a full point.  Playing in the second group out #3 Ian King won 2up and #4 Olivia Zhang lost 3&2.  Playing at #5 Nolan Marsters added a point with a 3&2 victory while he watched his playing partner #6 Tiger Wu halve his match.  In the final group #7 Howard Liu won 2&1 and Lucas Wintersteen playing in a non-scoring match won 1up.

A great week for the MXGolf team.  Thus far the team has earned 13 out of a possible 16 points in league play.  Another big week next week with a dual match with BB&N on Monday and a tri-match with Belmont Hill and Nobles on Wednesday all at Concord CC.
