The Zebras rallied again for a Monday evening away game verses non-league Dexter Southfield. The Zebras had difficulty stopping the DS explosive middies and attack in the first quarter which resulted in a huge deficit of 8-1 after the first quarter. Taylor Thompson had the lone goal for the Zebras with less than a minute to go. The Zebras made adjustments at both ends and came roaring back in the second quarter, determined to gain the momentum. The defensive unit made several stops, leaving DS scoreless in the second quarter, while Addie Curry and Finny Crosby notched two important goals to bring the score to 8-3 at the half. In the third quarter, the play went back and forth, but DS won the quarter 5-3. The fourth quarter, however, belonged to the Zebras. The defense was outstanding with slides and communication, allowing just one goal by DS. Avery Swenson, Thea Salem, Aiden Bell, Sophie Watson, Margot Curry, and Lucy McGaraghan along with the help of goalies Erin Larson and Lev Lynch stymied several DS attacks and transitioned the ball to the attack. Cate Glass, Marin Gustafson, and Addie Curry added four goals in the fourth quarter bringing the final to 14-10. Molly Kearney made a great debut in the attack and Lucia Cook made some key ground ball plays and off-ball movement to keep the attack poised and active. Annika McNulty was relentless in her off-ball movement and quick flies on the attack.Â
