MXGolf traveled to Wollaston Country Club in Milton to take on Thayer School.  On a very cold and extremely windy day, the Zebras returned to Concord earning a point in league standings with a 3.5 - 3.5 tie vs Thayer.  Roaring out in our first foursome was junior Lucy Wang - returning to the top of the ladder after a year away from school - and 9th grader Robert Sou playing in his first match.  Lucy was able to end her match on the 7th hole earning a full point with a 4&2 victory over Thayer's #1.  On the 8th hole, Robert was able to put another point on the board for MX with a 3&1 victory.  In our second foursome, returning sophomore Ian King playing at #3 was able to battle to a hard fought half point with a tie. His playing partner, 9th grader Olivia Zhang playing in her first match earned a full point with a 3&2 victory.  Things looked great for an opening win for the team - but as in many matches the outcome was decided on the 9th hole.  With our 7 & 8 already finished on the 8th hole - at 7 captain Nolan lost 2&1 and #8 Ellie McCalmon winning 2&1 in a non scoring match - #5 Tiger Wu and #6 Howard Lou needing to earn a half point for the victory both faltered and lost their matches 1 down.  The Zebras will roll down to historic Newport Country Club on Saturday to take on St. George's and Gov's in the team's first tri-match of the season.
