The Middlesex Boys Varsity Tennis team because its 2025 campaign with a strong 7-0 win over St. Mark's at home. The team's spirits were better than the early April rainy weather, forcing the match onto the indoor courts where Middlesex team is particularly dangerous.
The Zebras leapt out to an early lead in doubles, with juniors #1 doubles Lach McCaghren and Luke Felago and #2 doubles senior co-captains Hudson Hinkley and Alvie Zobel de Ayala winning handily to secure the doubles point.
The singles matches featured some solid battles, as junior Milo Schubnel and sophomore Tim Zhao both won their first Middlesex singles matches with victories in tiebreakers with their teammates cheering them on. Congratulations are also in order for junior George Thornton for winning his first singles match for Middlesex as well. McCaghren, sophomore Declan Power, Felago all won their matches in straight sets.
The team is very deep, with strong players throughout the 10 members. The Zebras have a big week coming up with away matches at Governors on Monday April 7
th, Tabor on Wednesday the 9
th, and the home against the always tough Nobles on Saturday the 12
th.
