CONCORD, Mass. - Running on their home course for the first time this season, the Middlesex girls cross country team continued their impressive stretch of performances with a convincing showing against ISL rival Milton Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Paced by first place finisher Stella Curwin-Amfitheatrof, the Zebras had eight of the first ten runners cross the finish line en route to victory.
Curwin-Amfitheatrof completed the 5K course layout in 20:08.50, nearly a full minute ahead of Milton's Esme Campbell who finished second (21:02.10).
The next three runners to wrap up were all from Middlesex led by Cassidy Bruno (21:19.40) and Jude Hebb (21:19.80) in third and fourth places, respectively and then Cate Corbett rounded out the top five (22:02.40).
Milton's Phoebe Quinn was sixth but then came four straight from Middlesex to round out the top ten. Angela Huffner (23:05.30), Pipsa Palatsi (23:08.20), Anika Ata (23:33.60) and Katherine Tantillo (23:33.80) all had strong efforts in what turned out to be a warmer than expected afternoon.
