Middlesex Nordic Skiing traveled to Holderness yesterday for their second race of the season. The Freestyle Technique (skate) race was a 1.7 km loop course that skiers had to navigate three times for a distance of 5.1 km
The course was very challenging with steep uphills and fast downhills. Conditions were perfect for race day with temps in high teens at race start. Angela Huffer had her best race of her career and the best of a MX female skier since our program restarted in 2020 with a 17th place. She was followed by Alex Hood in 34th and Avery Green at 38 out of 55 female competitors from 12 Lakes Region Schools.
Terry Qi had his best race of his 3rd year of skiing at MX with a 27th place among an extremely strong boys field of 65 skiers. Robert Sou followed with a 45th place in his first race ever and Mylles Welch followed at 51st place.
The girls team finished in 6th place overall and boys were 8th overall.
