Middlesex and Tabor squared off at the annual ISL Showcase, played at the Massachusetts Youth Soccer complex in Lancaster, Mass. It was a great event for the league that drew crowds to watch all 16 ISL teams play in eight staggered matches. Tabor came out organized from the first whistle and had an extra man in the midfield throughout the match, while their danger was found in the turning and shooting technique of Carter Estabrook and the hard running forward by Ben Tingley-Prince and Liam Martin. Middlesex opened the scoring in the 18th minute, as Bryan Mayhew slipped Adriano Valmora in a gap behind the defense for the 1-0 lead. Baze Kalisa converted a set piece header to double the lead ten minutes before halftime on a feed from Bear Tibbitt. The first half saw lots of opportunities for Tabor to get forward for corner kicks and rushing forward with a four-man counterattack that caused the MX backline some problems. In the second half, Middlesex stretched the field out and kept the ball more consistently until Valmora pounced on another feed from Mayhew to put the match out of reach. Keeper Noah Browne earned his first ISL shutout and his fourth of the season, as the chances in front of him were limited by some solid defensive work by Bear Tibbitt, Quinn Falvey, and Will McCarthy. It was a highly competitive and cleanly played match by both sides.
