Pomfret traveled north to Concord, Mass. from Connecticut to take on Middlesex in an entertaining and back-and-forth early season contest. The visiting Griffins came out with great energy and capitalized on an early mistake, as Mustafa Hassan slipped Yusuf Dakane in for the early tally. Middlesex increased their organization and were gifted an equalizer, courtesy of Adriano Valmora '28. Pomfret showed a lot of quality throughout the match, but the duo of Dakane and Hassan were dynamic and direct while posing constant problems for the Middlesex defense. Ridley Phillips also shone for Pomfret with his technical quality and ability to link defense to attack in transition. The play of the match came in the 28th minute, as Bryan Mayhew '26 played a precision pass through the lines to find the movement of Olly Mylon '25. Mylon took one touch at speed and smashed the ball into the back of the net from 15 yards out. With the game in the balance, Bryan Mayhew played a whipped ball to the back post, just two minutes into the second half to extend the lead for Middlesex to 3-1. Quinn Falvey '26 and Bear Tibbitt '25 did a great job of managing the Pomfret counterattacking threat and the game wound up finishing with a 3-1 win for Middlesex. It was a hard fought and highly competitive match from both sides.
