The Zebras came out on a mission in the first quarter- making outstanding defensive plays under the tutelage of seniors McMurray, Taylor, Ejiofor, Berardinelli, and Athanasoulas. At the other end of the field, Pinney, Glass, and Berardinelli combined for three goals, giving the Zebras a 3-1 lead at the quarter break. Brooks came back in the second and both teams started the second half with five tallies. The third quarter was a tough one for the Zebras as Brooks was able to secure several possession minutes and score on fast break opportunities. Still, the Zebras refused to give up and they climbed out of a 6 goal deficit before the skies opened up and lightening brought the game to an end prematurely. Pinney, Bracken, Curry, Athanasoulas, Glass, and Berardinalli had points in the offensive end and Athansoulas picked up three caused turnovers and combined with McGaraghan and Berardinelli for 6 contested ground balls on the day. Lily McTeague held strong in the net with five key saves and several successful clears.Â
