With more momentum and a great practice on Friday, the Zebras came out with purpose and focus today. Cate Glass opened the scoring off a feed from Ryan Pinney, and Addie Curry finished to take a 2 goal Middlesex lead. St. Mark's got on the board, but Pinney put in two more goals to close the quarter 4-2. The second quarter was a combination of great defensive play, particularly from slides down low by Avery Taylor and Tate McMurray, draw controls by Katie Athanasoulas, and a selfless attack who moved the ball and scored on 4 assisted goals and 3 free positions. Athanasoulas, Ellie Bracken, Glass, and Siena Bernardinelli all scored with Bracken and Curry dropping in free positions goals. The third quarter was a defensive battle, but ninth grader Annika McNulty put up her first career point with an excellent feed to Glass. Lucia Cook was relentless on the ride for the attack and Lily McTeague had her first ISL start and made 5 saves and successful clears for the Zebras.
