The Middlesex Girls' Cross Country team won the ISL Cross Country Championships on Friday, led by Stella Curwin-Amfitheatrof, who took the individual title. Curwin-Amfitheatrof ran in third throughout much of the race before pulling away in the last mile to win decisively in a time of 18:48. Cassidy Bruno and Anika Ata also earned medals for their top 15 finishes, placing fifth and fifteenth respectively. Katie Tantillo (19th), Maggie Cabot (23rd), Pipsa Palatsi (29th), and Catherine Bain (35th) ran outstanding races to complete the varsity seven. The team embodied toughness and composure despite the wind and heat, totaling just 61 points, ahead of runner-up Nobles' 95 points and Governor Academy's 112 points.
The Middlesex JV squad also had a fantastic day. Allison Luo led the charge, taking first place to win the race by nearly 20 seconds. Sue Hayashi, Caroline Ripsteen, Marvelous Ugwu, Jessica Wu, Charlotte Friedmann, Anne Yang, Kassie Schaeberle, Eva Zhao, and Lucy Wu also ran strong races for Middlesex.
