Girls' Cross Country kicked off the fall long weekend with wins against two esteemed rivals, Groton and St. George's. Stella Curwin-Amfitheatrof took the lead from St. George's Peyton Lubek midway through the race and didn't look back. Lubek finished second, followed by Middlesex's Cassidy Bruno in third, St. George's Eleonor Lial in fourth, and Middlesex's Anika Ata in 5th. Angela Huffer (7th), Maggie Cabot (9th), Katie Tantillo (10th), and Pipsa Palatsi (12th) rounded out Middlesex's top varsity seven.
Allison Luo led the JV squad to a win against Groton, finishing as the first runner in the JV field. Marvelous Ugwu, Caroline Ripsteen, Charlotte Friedmann, Sue Hayashi, Celine Ding, and Kassie Schaeberle also ran strong races to contribute to the JV victory.
The team looks forward to another home race against Rivers and Austin Prep this Friday.
