MX hosted a tenacious St. Mark's team for a match that was tight up and down the ladder. At #4, Ema Edwards ('24) came back, after losing two hard-fought games, to use improved length and width to take the last three games, winning her match 3-2. At #5, Ashwini Menon ('25) started strong, winning the first game going away, but her opponent adjusted to Ashwini's strategy and came back to win the next two games. Ashwini in turn then adjusted her strategy, using more of the court, to prevail in the last two games and win the match 3-2. Anjali Mehta ('27) at #1, Arya Mehta ('24) at #2, Claire Ryu ('27) at #6, and Mia Nolin ('27) at #7 all won competitive matches 3-0. At #3, Katie Chen ('26) lost an incredibly well-played match that went back and forth many times--the match of the afternoon--2-3--and 14-12 in the fifth. In the end, MX prevailed 6-1. They will play BB&N on Friday. Â
