MX prevailed against BB&N 6-1 in a back and forth contest. Playing up at the #2 position for the first time this season, Katie Chen ('26) played her best match of the season so far, pinning her opponent back with deep shots to the corners and covering the short responses, to win 3-0. Playing up at #3 for the first time in her career, Ema Edwards ('24) used excellent court coverage and depth of shots to go ahead of her opponent 2-0; then her opponent started covering the court better and hitting with better variety to take the third game. Ema, however, responded with even better court coverage and shot placement, to take the fourth game and win her match 3-1. Playing #4, Ashwini Menon ('25) had to adjust to her opponent's remarkable touch at the front--Ashwini discovered that her opponent could hit a wide variety of short shots from various positions on the court--but by consistently hitting the ball deep, Ashwini gradually regained control of the match and won three very close games, to prevail in her match 3-0. At #5, Claire Rye ('27) won her match 3-0, and at #6 Mia Nolin ('27) won her match 3-1. At #7, Kiki Friedbauer ('24) played a remarkable match: by consistently keeping the pressure on her opponent with hard shots to the back, Kiki prevented her opponent from using her strong attacking shots and Kiki prevailed 3-0. Overall, it was an excellent match for MX, with the whole team playing well.Â
