Middlesex traveled to Pomfret on a Friday afternoon for a physical and highly competitive match with their Class B rivals. The hosts were led by a stellar performance in the net from junior Nathan Kikonyogo, hard work in the midfield from junior Caleb White, and direct counterattacking threat from Yusuf Dakane. Middlesex got off to a quick start when senior captain Teddy Fritzinger found the net in the second minute. From there, Middlesex saw several strong scoring chances turned away by Kikonyogo while Pomfret was looking for their opportunity to create a scoring chance on the counter. That opportunity came towards the end of the first half when a turnover in the back led to an excellent cross from White on the left for Dakane to head home and even the score at 1-1 heading into the halftime interval. Pomfret rode that momentum to dominate the first 15 minutes of the second half but couldn't create the chance that would break the deadlock. Middlesex drew a penalty kick with 25 minutes left that was dispatched by Fritzinger for the 2-1 lead for Middlesex. The closing stages of the game were full of stoppages and the game got stretched, but the visitors hung on for the road win. Bryan Mayhew, Bear Tibbitt, and Olly Mylon stood out for Middlesex in the win.
