Ten different players scored today demonstrating the depth and true heart of this united team. Under the leadership of the five seniors: Margeaux Matz, Charley DiAdamo, Caroline Cervini, Ali Petrone, and Syd Cogliano, this team has created a culture of joy, poise, unselfishness, passion, and an infectious work ethic. The draw team was outstanding and this led to key possession and seven unanswered goals in the first 12 minutes of play. Tate McMurray caused 4 turnovers in the defensive end and Siena Berardinelli picked up the most ground balls and added her first goal of the season on a free position. Ali Petrone notched four goals, and Esme Coes had three terrific assists as well as a goal of her own. Marg Matz completed a hat trick and played exceptional defense while Cervini grabbed several draws and set up her teammates. Syd Cogliano earned a 67% save percentage and new goalie Reagan "Reggie" Fitzgerald stepped in net and notched three key saves. Therese Ejiofor scored her first career goal as a midfielder and Anna Bonazzoli debuted in the defense with some key transitions in the midfield. Overall, an awesome team win for the Zebras. The team now hits the second half of their season and they continue to work to improve and play as a unit in one of the strongest leagues in the country. Next up: ISL rival RIVERS at home on Saturday.
