The Zebras came out with focus, determination and a team spirit that set the tone for the entire game. Middlesex scored the first five unanswered goals from four different scorers demonstrating the depth and unselfish team play of the attack. The defense was relentless, turning away Thayer's scoring opportunities numerous times. The Tigers notched their first goal with 7:34 remaining in the half, which gave them momentum for the remainder of the half. Thayer notched two more goals to Middlesex's one, sending the Zebras into the second half with a 6-3. Both teams came out with grit in the second half and the Tigers brought the Zebra lead down to 2 when they scores just a minute and half into the second half, but Middlesex answered on a free position just two minutes later. The Tigers scored again on a free position of their own, but the Zebras continued to work their offense and took a 9-5 lead. Thayer continued to push with two more goals, but Middlesex clinched the win with a possession on the draw and one final goal to bring the goal differential to three. The Zebras remained calm and poised through the final minutes and Sydney Cogliano made 11 saves, many in the second half to stop the Tiger surge. The draw team was exceptional this game, particularly at key moments and Tate McMurray was the team leader on caused turnovers. Avery Taylor picked up the most GBs and played solid defense all day. Seniors Caroline Cervini, Margeaux Matz, Syd Cogliano, Ali Petrone, and Charley DiAdamo helped foster the positive team chemistry on the field and showed resilience and toughness throughout the game.Â
