The Middlesex Boys Varsity Hockey took on a challenging opponent in Governors for their first home-opener. Both teams ended the first period with no goals due to top-notch goaltending on both sides. During the second period, Governors was able to score twice to take the lead and then netted four more goals in the third period. Middlesex answered back with a fine power play goal in the third and numerous offensive chances but was not able to convert enough of them to claim the game.
