A scoreless draw in the first half opened up into a wild second half that saw BB&N take a 3-2 at Middlesex. After a relatively even first half, BB&N got on the board in the 49th minute on a penalty kick from Ethan Rabel after a Middlesex defender fouled an attacked from behind on the outer edge of the penalty area. Just two minutes later, a backwards pass in the back triggered the BB&N press and ultimately resulted in a turnover and a quick counter for Rabel to tally again to make it 2-0. Middlesex answered just a minute later, as Olly Mylon picked out Bryan Mayhew on the right side of the box and Mayhew unleashed a rocket to the far top corner to bring the score to 2-1. Middlesex then enjoyed a dominant spell of possession and chance creation for the last 25 minutes of the game, but the only statistic that mattered was the score. In the 74th minute, Shai Saarony floated a high, 55 yard free kick from the halfway line into the Middlesex box. The flight of the ball was misjudged and wound up in the back of the net for a 3-1 lead. Middlesex continued to press forward and earned a penalty kick on a handball inside the area for Zach Miles to finish and bring the score back to 3-2. Middlesex ended with 61% of possession and led in total shots, 15-8, but could not find the equalizer. It was a great effort by both teams, with no cards shown by the referee.
